Holidays in Cuba

More and more tourists are starting to book Cuba holidays, and it’s certainly not hard to see why.

This Caribbean island is all swathes of powder-soft sand, vintage Chevrolets and pastel coloured houses – not forgetting its distinctive cigar factories, one of the many things Cuba is famous for.

Whether it’s Latin beats, a rum cocktail or the heady scent of a cigar, Cuba will whisk you away to a sub-tropical world where time virtually stops, and all you need to think about is which patch of sand you will lay your towel on. Even the cars appear to be lost in time, as rumbling 1950s American wagons are the norm here.

A wander through the old town of Habana Vieja in Havana, a UNESCO protected piece of history, is a glorious experience – full of winding streets, palatial facades and Baroque architecture, not to mention the aptly named Revolution Square – the scene of many rallies throughout Cuba’s uprising.

Head out to the coast for a different experience entirely, and taste the exotic side of Cuba. Here you can explore the many tiny surrounding islands – known as cayos – and don a facemask to observe the thriving sea life just below the water’s surface. Or join a scuba excursion and take in the beautiful sights of Cuba’s many coral reefs. If you prefer dry land, there are always the spectacular mountains to explore – such as the Sierra Maestra, the island’s largest mountain range.

Cuba holidays are available to book through Thomas Cook, offering a wide range of deals for a range of purposes such as family holidays or luxury breaks. To find out more and to book Thomas Cook holidays, visit the website at thomascook.com.

Whatever you choose to do on holiday in Cuba, you’ll certainly have the holiday of a lifetime.
